The 'Canarias Stars' program was born with the "objective of strengthening the network of emerging and highly technological companies in the islands" and has two million euros, as published in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands this Thursday by the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment, through the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society (Aciisi).
Entities, public or private, that carry out activities typical of innovation support agents, facilitators of services to companies, that promote the innovative culture in the field of business and entrepreneurial activity, as well as those private companies that intend to carry out an innovation project, may access this line of aid.
Elena Máñez, the councilor of the area, specified that this measure aims, among other things, to delve into the diversification of the Canary economy, "promoting the start-up of innovative companies, accelerating the process of "crystallization" of business projects, promoting meeting points that facilitate the contact of entrepreneurs with private investors and facilitating access to other sources of national and European innovation funding, in an agile way."
'Canarias Stars' is one of the nine new initiatives programmed in the annual budget of the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and the Information Society, which are aimed at facing the economic reactivation, with a clear commitment to talent and research, digital transformation, business innovation and improved connectivity.
The call for Canarias Stars subsidies published this Thursday in the BOC, establishes that the minimum and maximum limits of subsidy to be granted per subsidized project are 25,000 and 200,000 euros, respectively, and applications will be made through the electronic headquarters, with a deadline for submission of 15 days.
