The first good news of 2024 is the publication of the BOC, https://www.gobiernodecanarias.org/boc/2023/251/007.html, in which Lanzarote recovers an exam call for PER and PNB in April and another in October for Yacht Master and Captain, so you will not have to travel to Gran Canaria to take the exam. Although having exams in Lanzarote again is already an achievement after the claims made, the two calls for each exam mentioned that were held annually on the island before the pandemic have not yet been reached.
PROFESSIONAL COURSES AND STCW CERTIFICATES
- From January 8 to 20: COURSE BRIDGE FROM RESTRICTED OPERATOR TO GENERAL OPERATOR OF THE GMDSS
- From January 22 to February 2: BASIC TRAINING COURSE IN MARITIME SAFETY
- From January 31 to February 2: UPDATE IN BASIC SAFETY TRAINING
- From February 5 to 9: PASSENGER SHIPS AND UPDATE
SPORTS COURSES
- Every week: NAVIGATION LICENSE: Course that enables the government of boats of six meters in length, without power limit, and jet skis. Daytime hours and maximum 2 miles from the coast.
- January 15, 2024:
PER – RECREATIONAL BOAT PATTERN: The course begins for the first exam call of the year, which will be on March 2 in Gran Canaria.
PNB – BASIC NAVIGATION PATTERN: The course begins for the first exam call of the year, which will be on March 2 in Gran Canaria.
- March 4, 2024: PER AND PNB LANZAROTE CALL
The course begins for the first exam call of the year in Lanzarote, which will be on April 20 in Lanzarote.
SAILING PRACTICES: Every week depending on demand. (A minimum group is needed).
- From January 19 to 21, 2024:
YACHT PATTERN AND CAPTAIN PRACTICE: 48-hour practice in a crossing regime. Navigation by estimation, loxodromic, and use of electronics.
PER EXTENSION PRACTICE: Enables the government of boats of 24 meters in length, and navigation between the peninsula and the Balearic Islands. 24-hour navigation in a crossing regime, putting navigation by estimation into practice.
PER ON LINE: Available all year round, prepare the course from the comfort of your home. An effective tool for your training, perfectly illustrated and explained with tutorials and theory and navigation videos.
SEA STARLIGHT PROJECT: Academia Náutica Lanzarote incorporates into its navigation services, a window to amateur Astronomy, and to the knowledge of the sky and orientation in night navigation. Depending on the groups, we will hold once a month, a talk on the history of navigation and its instruments, ending with an observation of the sky, in the Lanzarote Astronomy observatory in Nazaret.
