Ten new cases of coronavirus in the Canary Islands

The total number of positive cases since the crisis began is 119, although seven have already been discharged.

The latest figure provided by the Ministry of Health raises the number of positive cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Canary Islands to 119 since the beginning of this crisis. This is ten more cases than the previous day, and the forecast is that the figure will continue to grow despite the measures taken to stop the spread of Covid-19, as the symptoms take days to manifest.

Of the 119 cases, seven have already been discharged and one woman died in Gran Canaria, bringing the number of patients currently with the disease to 111. As for their condition, the vast majority are in their homes with mild symptoms, although there are 40 who are hospitalized and nine who are in the ICU in serious condition.

By islands, Tenerife has 66 accumulated cases; Gran Canaria, 35; Fuerteventura, 6; Lanzarote, 4; La Palma, 3; and La Gomera, 3. As for the seven discharges that have already been received, five were in Tenerife and two in La Gomera.

For its part, in the whole of Spain there have been 1,438 positive cases in 24 hours, bringing the total figure to 9,191. In addition, the number of deaths has now risen to 309 and there are 432 people in the ICU throughout the country.
