The number of positives for coronavirus in the Canary Islands has reached a total of 12,778 cases, which is 289 more than a day ago. In addition, the archipelago has registered two more deaths in the last 24 hours, one of them in Lanzarote, bringing the number of deaths from Covid-19 to 221 since the beginning of the pandemic.
This is clear from the data that the Regional Ministry of Health publishes daily at around 2:00 p.m. and from which it can be seen that of the 12,778 cases that have been registered in the archipelago, 6,754 remain active, l which implies 84 more than a day ago.
Regarding the active cases, of the 6,754 that currently exist, 65 are in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while 210 are on the hospital floor and 6,479 are under surveillance at home.
Also, a total of 5,803 people have been discharged from the hospital in the Canary Islands since the health crisis began, which means 203 more canaries in the last 24 hours. Regarding PCR tests, 344,718 PCR tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands so far.
Data by islands
By islands, the one that continues to accumulate the most positives is Gran Canaria, which has 7,191 affected, of which 4,648 are active cases, 3,892 of them in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Also, the number of deaths amounts to 79 people and 2,464 were discharged from the hospital.
Tenerife, meanwhile, has a total of 3,693 accumulated positives, 1,769 of them active, while 1,799 overcame the disease and 1245 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, one more than yesterday.
For its part, Lanzarote has 1,063 accumulated positives, of which 191 are active, while 863 have been discharged from the hospital and nine have died, one in the last day. It is followed by Fuerteventura with 569 accumulated positives, of which 122 are active, 445 overcame the disease and two perished.
In cases it is followed by La Palma with 177 accumulated positives, of which four are active, 167 were discharged from the hospital and six died; El Hierro registers a total of 46 and has no new cases, all of them are already with the disease overcome and has not had to regret deaths either; and finally La Gomera has 39 accumulated positives, of which 20 are active and 19 overcame the disease.
