The Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, held a technical meeting this Thursday with representatives of the State Security Forces and Corps to evaluate the actions that have been carried out in the fight against illegal parties and street drinking since the end of the state of alarm and to reinforce the lines of action and coordination with the local police and the General Corps of the Canary Islands Police after the latest data showing a notable increase in cases in people under 30 years of age were made public.
Pestana stressed that they will continue to reinforce the attack on non-compliance with anti-covid measures, the mandatory use of masks and social distancing, especially among young people.
“Leisure is not at odds with continuing to comply with the rules established by the health authorities; those who fail to comply and hold parties without a municipal license, with large crowds, will be fined up to 30,000 euros,” warned the Government Delegate.
"In recent weeks we have dissuaded many organizers of this type of party and we are going to intensify police operations, because it is also unfair competition with those who scrupulously comply with the law," said Anselmo Pestana.
