Canary Islands adds 218 new positive cases of Covid and two deaths

The two deaths have occurred in Tenerife, which has also registered 94 new cases in the last day

Canarias has added 218 new positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, in which it has had to lament two deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health, the two deaths have occurred in Tenerife and are two men, both 75 years of age and with previous pathologies. One of the deaths is associated with a family outbreak.

The total of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 44,211, of which 4,117 are active, after 337 discharges have also been added. In the ICU there are 71 people admitted and in the hospital ward 312, while the remaining 3,734 patients are in home isolation.

The accumulated incidence at seven days in the Canary Islands is 67.85 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days in 129.89 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 94 cases with a total of 18,611 accumulated cases and 2,164 epidemiologically active cases; Gran Canaria has 18,191 accumulated cases, 87 more than the previous day and 1,605 active; Lanzarote adds twelve new cases with 4,547 accumulated and 83 epidemiologically active; and Fuerteventura has 1,895 accumulated cases, with 24 more cases than the previous day, and 232 active.

La Palma does not register new cases and remains at 444 accumulated cases and 21 active cases; El Hierro does not register new cases either, keeping its accumulated cases at 300 and its active cases at six; and La Gomera adds a new case, so its accumulated cases are 223 and its active cases are six.

Until this Thursday, a total of 923,498 PCR tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 3,251 correspond to the previous day.
