The good weather facing this Holy Week invites residents and tourists to visit one of the most emblematic beaches of Lanzarote: Famara. However, a reader has contacted La Voz to denounce the lack of "adequate" surveillance on the beach, depending on the influx of people that is concentrated in the Teguise town.

"There are only two lifeguards and there is no emergency vehicle", says the resident of Famara, who does not give credit to the lack of the vehicle, since she considers that it is an "indispensable" element to be able to carry out exhaustive surveillance on a beach of "almost 4 kilometers". In addition, she criticizes that the professionals who do the lifeguard work are "always in the booth", so she questions that in this way they do their job correctly.

"How is it possible that for days there has not been adequate surveillance on a kilometer-long beach, where you should normally be careful when taking a bath in it?", asks the resident of Famara.

In addition, the complainant criticizes the "negligence" of the Teguise government. "They ignore their residents and taxpayers in the face of the overcrowding of the beach", she criticizes, who also describes the attitude of the government group headed by Oswaldo Betancort as "apathy."

"The Councilor for Beaches knows it", adds the neighbor, and she says that she contacted the department to convey her discontent with the situation suffered by Famara beach. However, she maintains that the Consistory "has not provided any solution", and the problem of the lack of security is increasing "in summer dates such as Holy Week."
