Several tourists accessed the Los Charcones area in Playa Blanca throughout this Thursday, despite the yellow warning for waves activated by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Furthermore, as you may recall, access to this natural pool area is closed off with fences that prohibit the entry of people and vehicles due to the danger posed by the waves of more than five meters that are being recorded.

Yaiza Local Police officers have gone to the area to warn tourists of the danger. However, despite knowing that a person had died there a few days ago, they went to Los Charcones anyway, as Enrique Espinosa, manager of the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, confirmed to La Voz.

Likewise, it has been reported that agents of the Civil Guard have been deployed to this area of the coast to ensure that no one approaches the shore.

This situation occurs after last Sunday, January 25, four young Americans, aged between 19 and 21, had to be rescued after getting into trouble in this dangerous coastal area, which was closed to swimming due to a yellow alert for strong waves. Two of them managed to get out on their own, a third was rescued alive by the GES helicopter, while the fourth died

The body of the young man Aian Patrick was located two days later at a depth of thirteen meters and 20 meters from where they fell into the sea.
