A La Voz reader has once again warned of the presence of young people inside the Telamon, despite the danger involved in this practice. To denounce it, this Saturday she recorded a video while walking along the coast where the ship is stranded, in the area between Punta Grande and Punta Chica, next to the breakwater of the Port of Arrecife. In the images, you can see how some boys climb a ladder to the ship and then walk inside. "How reckless", this neighbor laments worriedly.
This year marks forty years since the shipwreck of the Telamon, which ran aground next to the port of Arrecife on October 31, 1981. Two years ago, the Headquarters of Logistic Support of the Arsenal of Las Palmas of the Navy put out to public auction the extraction and subsequent sale of the remains of the ship.
According to La Provincia, the tender specifications stated that the deadline for the execution of the works would be 365 calendar days from the signing of the contract, "except for reasons of force majeure, which must be conveniently assessed and expressly agreed by the Administration." However, the reality is that two years have passed and the ship is still in the same place.
