The Yaiza City Council invites the Canarian wrestling family, neighbors and visitors to the institutional tribute to the Playa Blanca Canarian Wrestling School that will take place this Saturday, February 3, at 12 noon, on the promenade, next to the town's beach. The act will also recognize the career of the monitor responsible for the quarry, Tomás Quesada, that of the Unión Sur Yaiza Wrestling Club 'Pollo de Uga', and the work of the Island Wrestling Federation. Municipal representatives will unveil a 2.20 meter high sculpture created by the young artist from the municipality, Cintia Machín.
"The Playa Blanca Canarian Wrestling School has been promoting the vernacular sport and the great values that accompany it for more than 30 years, such as nobility, discipline and solidarity, with Tomás Quesada at the helm, as an indisputable bastion in the training of new generations of fighters," they highlight from the City Council.

The author of the sculpture, graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid and only 22 years old, is "especially proud to represent the tradition of Canarian wrestling, a fact that I also feel as a great responsibility." The City Council has invited the Los Salineros de La Hoya to liven up this emotional day full of memories and gratitude.
