The youth academy of the Lanzarote Rugby Club continues to bear fruit. Last week, players and coaches from the Lanzarote rugby school traveled to Tenerife where they participated in the III Villa de Adeje Tournament for Rugby schools in the Canary Islands.
The Lanzarote Rugby Club was represented in different categories, in the Under 6, Under 12, Under 16 and Under 18.
In the words of the president of the Lanzarote team, Maki Armas, "we were able to enjoy a magnificent tournament perfectly organized by those responsible for the Ñandú Rugby Club at the Tenerife Top Training facilities, where all the Rugby schools of the Canary Islands gathered. The representatives of our school maintained a very high level throughout the event in terms of rugby, even receiving congratulations from the organization and the large audience that was there."
Armas clarifies that in these events "the results of the scoreboard are the least important, especially at these ages, in which the main objective is for them to have fun, enjoy this activity and instill in the athletes the values of rugby: respect, camaraderie, sportsmanship, sacrifice and overcoming, among others."
The III Villa de Adeje Tournament for Rugby schools in the Canary Islands is the first event of a sports calendar this season for Rugby Schools in the Canary Islands community in which the Lanzarote Rugby Club will be present, taking Lanzarote rugby and its values throughout the Canary Islands.
