RCNA Team 1 Finishes Fourth in the Canary Islands Optimist Championship

Team 1 of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife finished in fourth position in the Canary Islands Optimist Championship, after the semi-finals and final were held this Thursday. The conditions on the race course were 16 knots of wind with gusts of up to 20 knots, flat sea.

Team 1 of the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria took the final victory, followed on the podium by Real Club Náutico de Tenerife 1 and Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria 2.

In the semi-finals, RCNGC 1 defeated RCNA 1 by 2 wins to 0. In the other semi-final, RCNT obtained a pass to the final with the same result of 2 - 0.

The petit final in the fight for third and fourth place was decided in favor of RCNGC 2 by 2 to 1 against RCNA 1. The final was just as close, with RCNGC 1 and RCNT 1, each with one victory to decide the title in the third race in favor of RCNGC 1.

RCNA 1, which finished in fourth position, was made up of Jorge Betancort Martín, Elena Armas Morales, Miguel Álvarez Rodríguez and Gabriela Cañibano Salvago. RCNA 2 also participated, finishing in seventh position, made up of Mateo Roa Nieves, Coromoto Rodríguez Machín, Elena Izquierdo and Diego Lasso Reguilón.

At the end of the competition, the awards ceremony was held at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife after a lunch was offered to the participants.
