Puerto Calero hosted this weekend the culmination of the I Yaiza Light Sailing League, in which 80 young sailors have participated in the optimist and laser classes. The tournament, held between Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero, was organized by the Yaiza City Council with the support of the Canary Sailing Federation and with the commitment of the southern clubs Ademar 4 Vientos and Código Cero, to whom the mayor, Óscar Noda, publicly thanked for their involvement during the awards ceremony.

The Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, has assured athletes and families the continuity of competitive meetings "because they serve to measure the level of our sailors, help them progress and promote integration between members of the same club and between sister clubs, which is perhaps one of the most relevant facts."
The directors of the Ademar 4 Vientos and Código Cero clubs, David Pérez and Andrés Ramírez, respectively, have recognized "the municipal impulse to the development of nautical sports as we had never felt it."
The awards ceremony was presided over by the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, the councilors Ángel Lago and Daniel Medina and the directors of the clubs, before the mothers, fathers and families of the sailors.
