The Canary Islands School Age Championship, organized by the General Directorate of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands and with the collaboration of the Island Councils, has a new stop on the island of Tenerife this week. A weekend in which the regional competitions of chess, indoor football, athletics, Canarian wrestling and Canarian ball are held. The island of Lanzarote will have the participation of 93 athletes from the children's and cadet categories this weekend.
On Wednesday afternoon, the presentation of the island teams that will represent Lanzarote's sport in the Canary Islands School Age Championship took place in the Cabildo of Lanzarote. An act to recognize the work they have done in the Island Games of Sports Promotion, wish them luck for the competition this weekend and enhance the values of fair play with which this type of sports competitions should be developed.
The chess modality will have the participation of eleven athletes in the children's and cadet categories. The children's team will be made up of Andrea Martín Martín, Alexia de Ganzo Medina, María Elena García Dascalu, Edwar Steven Sánchez Orozco, Randolph González Pérez and Jan Thomas Nordgreen. For their part, Yaxin Liu Guan, Blanca Martuscello, Manuel Alberto Navío López, Yuhang Shi Zheng and Esteban Dimitri Betancort González will compete in the cadet category. All of them will be accompanied by the coaches Miguel Ángel García Álvarez and Antonio Vera Martín.
Indoor soccer has been one of the usual disciplines in the Canary Islands School Age Championships and has given great joy to Lanzarote's sport. The women's children's team has won several titles as champions of the Canary Islands in recent seasons. The two teams that travel to Tenerife this weekend will be made up of the following athletes:
Children's Female: Ainhoa Delgado Martín, Jennifer Tatiana López Velázquez, Carly Brooke Talbot, Aroa Morales Martín, Ylenia Dolores Rodríguez Hernández, Sara Niz Gutiérrez, María Soledad Hernández Rivero, Haimara Cabrera Bravo, Joseline Pérez Amador and Lucía Maeso Berge. Children's Male: Kevin Palo Cabrera, Alejandro Bonilla Lasso, Rubén Ethan Cabrera Revell, Giovanni Scognamiglio, Diego Santana Morales, Luis Tenorio Ramiro, Elías El Hajoui Bencharki, Andrés Unsain Nieves and Félix Echevarría Rodríguez. Coaches: Tanausú Sierra Viña and David Rodríguez Pérez
The most numerous representation will correspond to the athletics modality, displacing a total of 36 athletes from the cadet category. A sport that has accustomed us to many joys over the years, and that travels to Tenerife with great enthusiasm to fight for the medals that are at stake. The vernacular sport could not be missing in the Canary Islands School Age Championship, with the well-known Faro de Maspalomas Tournament of Canarian Wrestling being held this weekend. One of the great novelties is the creation of the women's category, giving way to the great boom that this sport is experiencing among women. The two Lanzarote teams will be made up of the following wrestlers:

The Canarian ball will be represented with the participation of eleven athletes from the children's category, in a sports discipline that has accustomed us to fight every year for the medals. The women's team will be made up of Abenchara Delgado de León, Belén Correa Tejera, Natalia Rodríguez Ramos, Andrea Cabrera Ramón, Verónica Galván García and Cristina Capitán Martín. And in the men's category Tristán Corujo Robayna, Alejandro González Lemes, Guayre González Elvira, Agoney Pérez Bonilla and Carlos Martín Rodríguez will participate. They will be accompanied by Francisco González Álvarez and José Manuel Fernández Fontes as coaches.
The event was used to present the triathlon team that will compete next week in the Canary Islands School Age Championship, in a competition that will take place on the island of Lanzarote. The men's cadet team will be made up of Marcos Antonio Knight, Saúl Hernández Hernández, Harry William Holddaway, Jorge Carlos Wilkes, Thomas Lee Cleminson and Luis Signorelli Pacheo. And the women's cadet team will be made up of Ariadna Curbelo de León, Tiffany Eva Cabrera Robson, Paula Betancort de León, Laura Curbelo Armas, Lucía Rodríguez Cabrera and Cristina Gil Betancor. José Israel Caraballo Nieves and Bella Bayliss are the coaches of the triathlon modality.
