CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen closes the year 2017 at the top of the classification of group A of the Women's Silver Division of Handball, thanks to the victory added on Saturday afternoon against S.A.R. Rodavigo. A complicated match that the tiñoseras had to play, against a Galician team that sold its defeat very dearly and that was excessively hard in some phases of the game. It was in the second half when CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen knew how to mature the match to take the victory.
From the beginning it was demonstrated that it was not going to be a placid match for CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen, with S.A.R. Rodavigo burning its last options to fight to play the promotion phase at the end of the season. The Galicians were strong in defense, although on some occasions with the permissiveness of the referees who did not punish the harsh actions of the visitors.
CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen began to open the gap on the scoreboard with a 3-0 run, putting the 5-3 on the scoreboard in the 8th minute of the match. S.A.R. Rodavigo reacted, with Lorena Pérez being the one in charge of putting her team ahead in the middle of the first half (7-8).
The match was stopped for 20 minutes, due to the blow that the local Eva Morales received in her face. The blow caused a spectacular gash on her eyebrow, from which a lot of blood emanated. The CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen player had to be transferred by ambulance to a medical center, where they had to apply several stitches.
In the final stretch of the first half, S.A.R. Rodavigo achieved the maximum income in its favor, thanks to the two goals scored by Lara Patiño (12-14). A first half that closed with the goal scored by Lucía Betancort, establishing the 13-14 with which the first 30 minutes came to an end.
The second half began with a 2-1 run in favor of CB Puerto del Carmen, putting the tables back on the scoreboard (15-15). S.A.R Rodavigo continued to take the initiative in the game and on the scoreboard, with the Galicians enjoying advantages of one and two goals.
A 4-0 run in favor of the tiñoseras returned the initiative on the scoreboard (21-19), although S.A.R. Rodavigo counteracted the locals' advantage with a 0-4 run. One of the keys to the match occurred with the exclusion of the visitor Sara González. The numerical inferiority of the visitors was used by Atteneri Morales, Suely Pinto and Kenia Hernández, to establish a 3-0 run and achieve a three-goal advantage with a few minutes left for the end of the match (27-24).
The players of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen knew how to perfectly manage the advantage they had acquired and did not allow S.A.R. Rodavigo to get closer on the scoreboard. With the result of 30 to 28, the match came to an end, with CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen adding a new victory. The tiñoseras end the year at the top of the standings and with a three-point advantage over the second classified.

Incidents: Municipal Pavilion of Tías. Match corresponding to the 14th day of the Women's Silver Division of Handball. The match was stopped for about 20 minutes when Eva Morales was treated for a gash on her eyebrow, being transferred to a medical center.
