Club Lucha Unión Norte defeated CL Unión Sur Yaiza in the final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias de Lucha Canaria. The northerners won 12-11 against the southerners, with Pedro Hernández being in charge of scoring the winning point by giving Efrén Medina two in a row. A fight that marks the official farewell of the palmero wrestler from what has been his team in recent seasons, after confirming his signing for CL Tegueste (Tenerife). Pedro Hernández had words of gratitude for those who have been his fans and to whom he offered the victory achieved on Thursday night.
The two most consistent teams of the previous phase of the competition and teams that had only suffered one defeat in the regular phase reached the final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias. CL Unión Sur Yaiza had an important absence to face the final. Andrés Carmelo Guillén was unable to dress short, due to an inopportune injury that undermined his team's chances in this fight. Juan Antonio Ramírez put the northerners with two points ahead on the scoreboard (4-2), after giving Alejandro Quesada two in a row. Alexander Martín and Josué Cedrés were in charge of leveling the score. Alexander Martín in the third grab left Saúl Romero out of the fight and Josué Cedrés "Puli" got rid of Miguel Trujillo, in a confrontation in which the first grab ended in separate. The fight entered a phase in which the confrontations became muddled. Juan Antonio Ramírez and Josué Cedrés were mutually eliminated after concluding their two confrontations in separate. The same happened with Manuel Placeres and Patrick Cazorla.
Marcial Curbelo put CL Unión Norte ahead on the scoreboard again. In the third grab he eliminated Alexander Martín. An advantage that lasted the time that Francis García "Curry" gave Hugo Romero two in a row (7-7). On this occasion it was CL Unión Sur Yaiza who took the alternative on the scoreboard. Carlos Bravo put the southerners ahead on the scoreboard by defeating Marcial Curbelo. And Rubén Bonilla tied the score by eliminating Alejandro Betancort in the third grab.
One of the keys to the final was the confrontation between David Romero and Carlos Bravo. Both fighters were eliminated in the first grab after adding three warnings. Previously, Pedro Hernández had left Francisco García "Curry" out of the fight and Efrén Medina tied the score by giving Rubén Bonilla two in a row (10-10). Pedro Hernández and Efrén Medina reached the last grab of the night after getting rid of Maikel Umpiérrez and Luis Socas, respectively.
In the last confrontation of the night, Pedro Hernández gave Efrén Medina no options. With a "backwards" touch he gave the first to the Gran Canaria wrestler and with a thigh grab he left Efrén Medina out of the fight. With the score of 12 to 11, the final of the Copa La Caja de Canarias de Lucha Canaria came to an end. CL Unión Norte, a team led by Ernesto Saavedra, won the Copa title. During the celebration, Pedro Hernández said goodbye to those who have been his fans.
