CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen has regained the sensations that kept them leaders for a good part of the season.

Miguel Ángel Lemes' players achieved victory at the El Fango Sports Center in Bilbao against Club Balonmano San Adrián (28-40), in a match corresponding to matchday 24 of Group B of the Women's Silver Division of Honor, and it seems that they have set a direct course to secure a place in the promotion play-offs.

It was an uncomplicated match played by the conejeras in Bilbao. They created distance from the first minutes, reaching halftime with a reassuring goal difference (9-18) that was maintained until the final whistle (28-40).

In the offensive work in Bilbao, Mari Sánchez stood out with eight goals and Rosa Álvarez with seven goals scored. Among the players of the Basque team, Izaskun Turrión scored six goals.

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen strings together three consecutive victories that give them, week after week, greater chances of reaching the promotion play-off. Twenty-one victories in twenty-four matches that keep them in the lead of the standings, after a slight stumble by Atlántico Pereda. Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen is in first position with 42 points, tied on points with Logroño Sporting La Rioja. Third is Atlántico Pereda, who has had two consecutive draws, with 41 points.

The Lanzarote team is close to fighting for the playoff spots, depending solely on themselves and with a vital match on the last day at Logroño Sporting La Rioja's home.

The conejero coach, Miguel Ángel Lemes, explained at the end of the match that "the match was very complete on our part. We started very well in defense and making quick transitions. At the beginning we were not fine in the shot but, little by little, we improved that aspect and we arrived with a clear score of 9-18 at halftime. In the second half we maintained the fast game but we did not defend as much. It is normal to lose a bit of tension with such a favorable result".

In short, and after this result, Lemes considers that "the best thing is that we have recovered our game of defending and running. Pereda drew, that leaves things almost the same, we have to win the two remaining matches, or win against Castro and draw in Logroño. There is no competition this week. We will train from Monday to Wednesday and we will be off on Thursday and Friday because the objective is to arrive rested for the Castro match, which is having a good end to the season and we will have to be focused and motivated as we were this match. And we will talk about Sporting when it is time".

The coach of CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen adds that "we have to go match by match because until April 6, which is the Sporting match, many things can happen", concluded Miguel Ángel Lemes.

Now comes a week without competition and on Saturday, March 30, the conejeras will play the penultimate league match at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal de Tías against Loizaga Construcciones Castro-Urdiales, eleventh in Group B of the Women's Silver Division of Honor with seven wins, three draws and fourteen losses in twenty-four matches.
