Susana Gómez Castiñeira, an athlete based in the municipality of Haría, has become the first woman to cross the finish line of the "Rovaniemi 150" race, which took place on February 15 in Lapland. It is a 150-kilometer foot race, pulling a pulkka (sled).
Her merit has been enormous, since no woman had ever managed to reach the finish line in this test. Susana Gómez spent 36 hours and finished in eleventh position in the general classification, as reported by the Haría City Council, which has congratulated this resident for her sporting achievements.
In addition, two weeks after competing in Lapland, Gómez also participated in "The North Face Transgrancanaria", of 125 kilometers, and managed to be the first Canary Islander to cross the finish line in the new route of this test, which is valid for the Ultra Trail World Tour Series circuit. In this ultramarathon modality, 430 runners participated and only 305 finished.
