A representation of UD Lanzarote visited the Virgen de Los Dolores

The rojillo team made the traditional offering to the patron saint of the island of Lanzarote on Saturday morning.

A representation of UD Lanzarote, given the current health situation caused by covid-19, traveled on Saturday morning to Mancha Blanca, in Tinajo, to make the traditional floral offering to the Virgen de Los Dolores, patron saint of the island of Lanzarote. An act that takes place prior to the official start of the season in the Canary group of the Third Division RFEF, scheduled for Sunday at noon against Unión Puerto.

The coach of UD Lanzarote, Mateo García, was accompanied at the event by Raúl Fernández, third captain of the team this season. The footballers Miguel Gopar, Aythami Yebri, Rubo and Juanito, the delegate Miguel Ángel Guadalupe and the equipment manager Clemente García also joined the club's representation. In addition, Paulino Guedes, Ian Lane, Marcial Viñoly and César Saavedra attended, representing the Board of Directors of UD Lanzarote.

The parish priest Juan Antonio Artiles, together with Miguel Hernández, received the representation of UD Lanzarote in the Ermita de Mancha Blanca, thanking them for the visit made to the patron saint of the island. Mateo García and Raúl Fernández were in charge of placing a bouquet of flowers at the feet of the Virgen de Los Dolores.


UD Lanzarote received blessings for the entire season, wishing them the best of luck and above all that injuries respect the players. The rojillo team will debut at noon on Sunday against Unión Puerto, a match scheduled for 12:00 hours at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
