I often hear the adverb lejísimo in the Islands. Is this form correct or should it be lejísimos?
Both are correct. Lejísimos is, according to the Royal Spanish Academy, the proper form of general Spanish, while lejísimo is used in some American countries (Diccionario panhispánico de dudas, s. v. lejos). In the Canary Islands, as in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Chile, Cuba, Argentina and Uruguay, it is most common to hear lejísimo, although the general form lejísimos is also used.
