This week the Popular Party has confirmed me as a candidate for the Senate, and has asked me to revalidate the seat of Lanzarote and La Graciosa in Madrid. And to be honest with you, it is very difficult for me to win, it is very difficult for me to repeat as your representative in the Senate, but I will try, I will not stop, whoever knows me knows that I do not give up, that I do not get tired, that I fight, that I work and that paraphrasing Leopoldo López, "whoever gets tired loses", and I do not want to lose, therefore I will not get tired.
I will not get tired of explaining that I may have a thousand flaws, a thousand mistakes, but no one can deny that I am a committed guy, that I am a guy who works and that in these two years in Madrid we have made a lot of progress, and that never before had Lanzarote and La Graciosa been talked about so much in the plenary sessions and committees of the Senate and as an example, so as not to bore you, I leave you the link to my management report and the challenges conquered together these two years:

I will be on both islands, in every town, in every street, with you, at your disposal as always, in this campaign I will try to offer you the only thing I have, work, work and work, humility and closeness.
My rivals are people of level, of academic level and in some cases with extensive political careers, it will be a beautiful contest, attractive, from which I will surely learn regardless of the result. Here is the first difficulty, they are good opponents.
The second and probably more decisive is that the center right has fragmented, something that for elections like the Senate where the one who gets one more vote than his rivals wins is crucial.
The panorama is as follows, the PSOE rises slightly due to the wear and tear of Podemos but the PP, my party, falls due to the fragmentation and division of the vote between four forces of the center right; the PP itself, Ciudadanos, Vox and a very important part of CC. In the last 4 general elections the only two parties with real possibilities have been the PP and the PSOE.
Here in Lanzarote, the debate is no longer just a debate of right or left, which it also is, it is a debate of commitment, of who will work harder, of who will be active and not passive in the defense of the interests of our two islands that only have one way; that of continuing to advance, of who will move more, of who will be more attached to the social reality of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
Like almost all of you, no one ever gave us anything. Lanzarote has very humble origins, like mine, who come from Argana Alta, and I am very proud of that, because only then do you truly know what things cost.
That is why, because our past supports us, I will fight tooth and nail, with more strength than ever to continue defending you in Madrid, and for that I will start the comeback in these elections with you, together, and if for that I must resort to Churchill's rhetorical legacy of putting "Blood, effort, sweat and tears", I will do it.
These islands deserve no less.
