Yaiza City Council paid a total of 2,723,519 euros to suppliers in July, reducing its average payment to companies and self-employed workers from 10 to 7.6 days in the last quarter who carry out works, provide different services and dispatch construction material and other supplies.
“Although public administrations have 30 days to make their payments effective, Yaiza schedules two monthly payments to favor the economy of entrepreneurs who comply with their obligations. We can do this thanks to the compliance of citizens and the responsibility of managing our accounts, which place us as the most investing City Council in Lanzarote,” said the mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.
"Sectors such as construction and services other than hospitality also make efforts to survive and grow, logically not at the same rate as tourism, but they do need economic injection, and if companies and self-employed workers carry out our projects, then we contribute to lowering the unemployment rate, which right now is the biggest social demand. The City Council pays from the moment the companies certify their work,” added Noda.
The mayor publicly thanks the "manifest confidence" of the suppliers and the work of the municipal staff of the Administration Area who process "diligently" the duly conformed and supervised invoices.
