Tinache Ravine in Tinajo

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Department of Public Works, has just put out to public tender, through a simplified open procedure, the work of “Improvement of the canalization and lamination elements in the urban section of the Tinache road/ravine‟, located in the Cuchillo area in the municipality of Tinajo.

“After so many years of waiting by the residents of Cuchillo, these important works are finally going ahead,” explains the president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, who points out that “the conditioning works on this road will involve an investment of more than 411,000 euros, co-financed with FDCAN funds.”

Specifically, the works on the channeling of the Tinache road consist of the restoration of the hydraulic work that already exists in this ravine, to prevent flooding in the surrounding areas during the rainy season and reduce, as far as possible, the dragging of solids that occurs along the channel, preventing them from reaching and contaminating the roads and nearby urban centers.

The Minister of Public Works, Planning and Project Coordination, Jacobo Medina states that “the conditioning of this ravine is a commitment of the area with the City Council of Tinajo and with the improvement of hydraulic works on our island. These works will, on the one hand, guarantee the evacuation of rainwater and, on the other hand, clean up and improve access to the homes of residents.”

Medina points out that the duration of these works is expected to be approximately six months, starting from the signing of the staking act. Companies interested in this tender can submit their applications through the Cabildo of Lanzarote's tender portal https://licitacion.cabildodelanzarote.com until August 14.
