Around 200 people gathered this Saturday, July 26 in Arrecife, Lanzarote, to demand an end to the genocide that, according to them, Israel is carrying out in Gaza. The mobilization took place on León y Castillo street, in front of the old Cabildo, under the slogan "For a Palestinian state, for respect for international law. End the genocide".
Convened by groups in solidarity with Palestine, the protest demanded an immediate cessation of the bombings and the lifting of the blockade that prevents the entry of humanitarian aid, including food and medicine. "Children are dying of hunger, you can't look the other way," said some of the attendees, while carrying Palestinian banners and flags.
During the concentration, it was recalled that thousands of Palestinians have lost their lives since the beginning of the attacks, many of them minors, and the international community was asked to act to stop what they describe as war crimes.
The mobilization is part of a wave of protests that are taking place in different parts of the world in support of the Palestinian people.
