The Socialist Group in the Tinajo City Council has revealed this Monday that the City Council has suspended the bidding process for the urban solid waste collection service, transport to landfill and related activities and has demanded explanations from the mayor, Jesús Machín, demanding that he give an account before the Plenary of what happened.

"From the information that has emerged so far, the Socialist Group has learned that this decision is due to the request for precautionary measures presented by a third party before the Administrative Court of Public Contracts of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands," they say from the party.

In addition, the PSOE denounces that "this situation adds to the irregular processing carried out by the mayor", who published the tender documents after approving them by decree and before taking them to the Plenary. "As the socialist councilors have previously denounced, this could mean the nullity of the entire procedure," they emphasize from the party.

"While processing the most important service concession that the municipality has ever launched, the mayor advances from blunder to blunder as if it were an unimportant file," lamented the socialist spokesperson in the Consistory, Begoña Hernández.
