The Tinajo City Council now has its own secretary-auditor, after sharing this figure with the Haría City Council for more than a year. Luis Ángel Fernández started working last Thursday and the mayor, Jesús Machín, hopes "that he will stay permanently and not go to another destination".
Machín explained on Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero that the secretary-auditor has "great experience" and knows the Canary Islands well, since he spent 14 years in the Antigua City Council, in Fuerteventura. Right now, he was working in Soria.
The mayor would like the secretary-auditor to dedicate himself "exclusively" to Tinajo and not have to share it with other city councils. In addition, Machín has stated that he has "a project in mind", such as implementing the latest technologies in the City Council, something for which he also requires the work of Luis Ángel Fernández.
Tinajo was left without a secretary-auditor in January 2013, when Natalia García Valcárcel left her position, in the midst of a strong controversy in the Council. At that time, the mayor maintained that there was "a confrontation with some colleagues".
A month later, and in the absence of a secretary in the Tinajo City Council, the mayor of Haría, José Torres Stinga, agreed to share his auditor as a "momentary" measure, which has finally lasted more than a year.
