The high-impact storm that will affect from Monday night Lanzarote and the rest of the archipelago, christened as Regina by experts, has caused the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) to raise the yellow warning to orange for coastal phenomena.
Before the orange warning, this will be yellow from 06:00 on Tuesday until 00:00 on Tuesday, at which point the warning will turn orange. This situation will extend until 11:59 on this same day. This situation will cause combined sea from the north or northwest with waves of five to six meters that occasionally may reach seven. Northwest wind of 50 to 61 kilometers per hour is expected.
As of 00:00 on Wednesday, the warning will turn yellow again, with waves that will not exceed five meters in height.
In addition, the Aemet has activated yellow warnings for wind in Lanzarote from 8:00 p.m. this Monday until 2:59 a.m. this Tuesday due to gusts that can reach 70 kilometers per hour.
This yellow wind warning will be activated again from 15:00 hours this Tuesday and will continue until 23:59 hours on that same day.
