The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has announced the entry of a storm that will move across the north of Africa and that will cause rains and showers in Lanzarote and other islands of the archipelago.
In this way, it is estimated that this tail of the storm will affect the archipelago starting from the night of this Monday, March 2 and that it will continue throughout the week.
For this Tuesday, it is estimated that during the morning and the last hours of the day occasional weak to moderate showers may be registered, with temperatures decreasing. Meanwhile, the wind will be moderate to strong from the north, with probable very strong gusts in the last hours of the day.
For the moment, Aemet has activated yellow warnings for wind in Lanzarote from Monday night. To which will later be added a warning for swell during Tuesday morning, between 11:00 hours this March 3 until 15:00 hours on Wednesday. That same day a wind warning will remain active until 5:00 hours in the early morning.
Weather forecasts show that the largest amount of accumulated precipitation will be recorded during the early morning of next Wednesday, March 4. The weather forecast indicates that there will be weak to moderate precipitation in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, where even showers may occur. Minimum temperatures will be slightly rising, while maximum temperatures will drop, especially in mid-altitude and high areas.
For Wednesday, the wind is forecast to be moderate to strong from the northwest in the early morning, without releasing locally strong gusts on peaks and northeast and southwest slopes. Throughout the day it will decrease to moderate north.
