The Tías City Council unanimously approved this Tuesday in an ordinary plenary session the specific modification of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) of the municipality to reclassify the land where the Berriel Road is located and allow its conditioning with the creation of pipes, sidewalks and paving.
This approval will allow a more direct connection of the entire residential area of Lugar de Abajo with the urban center of Tías through a paved road prepared for use. In addition, the works on the road are strategic to complete the La Candelaria sanitation network, as it will also house the collector necessary for its implementation.
"I would like to congratulate the residents of Lugar de Abajo because they have been cut off for 36 years since the road was split and they have to go to La Candelaria to get to the town center. That road was protected due to its visual impact, but we have already managed to reclassify it to execute the project," said the mayor, José Juan Cruz.
The Councilor for Urban Planning, Ulpiano Calero, specified that the Berriel Road will change from the classification of rustic land to rustic land for infrastructure protection, which will allow the project of pipes, sidewalks and paving to be carried out, budgeted at "452,000 euros", the Consistory has advanced.
New councilor
The first item on the agenda of the plenary session held this Tuesday consisted of the inauguration of Ismael Cruz Ramos as councilor, who later spoke at the session addressing issues related to sports in Tías. Ismael Cruz stated that the city council's support for sports clubs is "forceful" and recalled that the corporation has allocated "635,000 euros" to sports activity in the municipality this year.
