President Pedro Sánchez has announced that the Government will approve "in the coming weeks" a royal decree-law with "urgent" measures to control rental prices and combat the fraudulent use of seasonal contracts or the conversion of entire apartments into room rentals.

Owners will benefit from a "full" tax bonus, 100% on personal income tax, if they renew contracts without increasing the price.

"To all owners who do not speculate and therefore do not increase the rental price, we will give them a full tax bonus, that is, 100% of the personal income tax, which will compensate for what they would earn if they increased that price," said the president

The president expects a measure to be approved in the coming weeks that must gather - within a maximum of one month from the government's approval - the approval of the majority of Congress.

The president made these announcements during the launch of "Operation Campamento" on former Army land in the city of Madrid, where 10,700 homes are planned to be built.

Sánchez witnessed the start of the demolition of military facilities to begin the new urban development plan. He was accompanied by the Minister of Housing, Isabel Rodríguez, the Minister of Justice, Félix Bolaños, and the Minister of Digital Transformation, Óscar López.
