The young singer from Lanzarote, Eva Ruiz, and the Lanzapatín Municipal School inaugurated the Christmas festivities of the island's capital last Friday, which will last until January 6. With a movie-like performance and before the presence of numerous children and parents, who did not want to miss the performance of this well-known singer from Lanzarote, as well as the exhibition of the Lanzapatín skaters, the Christmas program of the capital's City Council "Christmas for All" was officially launched. This includes, in addition to the free skating rink and the playroom, many workshops and children's shows.

Later, the councilors of Sports and Public Works, Eduardo Lasso and Gabriel González, who were accompanied at the inauguration of the free skating rink, located in the José Ramírez Cerdá Park, by the mayor of Arrecife, Cándido Reguera, as well as other municipal councilors, presented the awards won by five skaters from the Lanzapatín Club in the speed test of the I Canary Islands Inline Skating Championship of the 2009/2010 season held in Tenerife, Lanzarote and Las Palmas.

Thus, the award winners were Eire Auyanet Ybot, in the female Youth category; Estefanía Rodriguez García, in Junior; Jonathan Seijo Durán, in Youth; Azarún Medina Delgado, in Alevín and Engher Quintero Tomé, in Benjamín. The Lanzapatin Sports Club has been giving skating lessons at the Nieves Toledo School in Arrecife for two years, in all modalities, levels and ages.

Other Christmas events

The program "Arrecife, Christmas for All", in which the Departments of Tourism, Social Services, Immigration and Commerce also collaborate, will also offer various theater sessions in the coming days, as well as a visit to the José Ramírez Cerdá park by the Magic Elves of Santa Claus, and workshops on Christmas trees, Christmas hats, snowmen or Play Station 3.

Similarly, there will be visits from schools and institutes, as well as Christmas and sports camps to the José Ramírez Cerdá park, where almost all of the events will take place, in addition to the visit of the Pages of the Three Wise Men, preceded by the inauguration of the royal mailbox, who will arrive in the capital of the island on December 31. The great parade of the Three Wise Men, the Children's Musical Canta Juegos and the activities programmed for the Elderly will close the Arrecife festival program.
