The PSOE of Tinajo has asked Jesús Machín to convene an extraordinary and urgent plenary session to explain “his serious management failures” with water, after the cuts that Canal Gestión began to make last Wednesday in different municipal dependencies, due to the non-payment of invoices for four years.

In addition, the spokesperson for the Socialist Group in the Tinajo City Council, Begoña Hernández Nóbrega, has submitted to the Corporation Registry a request for access and a copy of all the invoices issued by Canal Gestión charged to the City Council during the years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022, as well as the list of debts of the City Council with Canal Gestión as of today.

"This regrettable measure is yet another example of the poor management of the government group and the mayor, since they are not even capable of facing the payment of an essential supply such as water supply”, questions Begoña Hernández, who recalls that the accumulated debt of the Tinajo City Council with Canal Gestión Lanzarote exceeds 80,000 euros, plus interest due to non-payments for several years.

“We have been waiting for the budgets for several months and asking for an appointment to see the invoices paid and those that are pending payment, but they have not given us the opportunity to do so. Now we understand the reason”, denounces the PSOE, which affirms that the cut in the water supply affects the municipal dependencies, the socio-cultural centers and sports facilities of the municipality, and the irrigation of parks and gardens.
