Finally, the Monitoring Table of the Pact has met, without prior notice, on Thursday morning in the absence of María José Docal, member of this body, who is still on vacation outside the island. The Socialist Party has finished the meeting convinced that the pact should continue. "This is a good pact, it is what Lanzarote needs, and we believe it should continue", said the organization secretary of the PSOE, Carlos Espino, after the meeting.
Next to him was the general secretary of the Lanzarote socialists, Manuel Fajardo. The two sat in front of the president of the Party of Independents of Lanzarote (PIL), Antonio Hernández, and Matías Curbelo to analyze the political situation of the alliance. The Board met after the Political Council of the PIL decided last Saturday to convene this body due to the existing political discontent in the institutions where they govern.
The two formations have put on the table the difficulties they are going through, although Carlos Espino did not want to clarify the specific issues that have been debated. From this first meeting to face the crisis that the government partners are experiencing, and in which Antonio Hernández even speaks of "stumbling blocks", the Socialist Party and the PIL will hold new meetings again but have not yet set a date.
