The Socialist Party of Lanzarote has expressed its outrage at the contempt that, in its opinion, "the City Council subjects the Local Police of Arrecife to" and consider it "incredible that the agents do not have modern, perfectly equipped vehicles and, of course, in a legal situation," they say, alluding to the fact that the patrol cars do not circulate because they have not passed the ITV filter.
The PSC of Lanzarote also recalls that "a few dates ago the head of the Local Police of Arrecife demanded 100 new agents for the next Legislature, assuring that at present the staff has less than half of the personnel necessary to meet the needs of the capital's population." And yet, according to the socialists, "their requests have been met with silence by the mayoress María Isabel Déniz."
Currently, the staff of the Local Police of Arrecife is made up of 72 troops, less than 1.2 agents for every thousand inhabitants by right, and that according to the socialists is "well below the minimum ratio established by the Autonomous Community, which is 1.8."
On the other hand, the PSC of Lanzarote recognizes its share of responsibility in this matter, having occupied one of its public positions the responsibility of the City Council of Local Police of Arrecife for a year and a half, referring to Nuria Cabrera, who currently has an internal file open for her differences with the party regarding the General Plan.
Now, the socialists emphasize that "the Government program designed by the Socialist Party of Lanzarote for Arrecife highlights and prioritizes the increase of the staff of the Municipal Police, the creation of local police units and the construction of a new barracks for the Local Police of the capital."
