The Popular Party has denounced that the Cabildo of Lanzarote is "at risk" of losing 64 social houses on the island, and they point out that the Plenary of the Corporation must approve again the transfer of land made to the Government of the Canary Islands for the construction of houses for social rent, which they assure "was planned to be included in the 20,000 Plan".

The populars emphasize that, as it already happened in Arrecife when the socialist Eva de Anta held the mayorship and "serious errors were committed in the file of the land of the houses of Maneje", now "the same thing has happened again with the also socialist, Dolores Corujo, in the first Insular institution".

"The error committed by the government of Dolores Corujo, has made lose a year in an issue as delicate and important for this island as it is the problem of housing shortage and high prices of private supply", denounces the popular councilor, Jacobo Medina.

Medina points out that the president of the Cabildo has been "selling smoke" since the beginning of the legislature. "The worst thing is that she has been playing with the feelings of hundreds of families, who are desperate for not having access to a house in the middle of the housing crisis that our land is experiencing", adds the popular councilor.

From the PP they point out that this is clear from the letter of the Government of the Canary Islands "in which the Cabildo is pulled by the ears for the lack of diligence in the transfer". "This has led to the Canarian Institute of Housing has not yet been able to initiate the acceptance file. A delay that, as stated in the communication addressed to the Cabildo, could exclude the plot from the Program of aid to the construction of social rental housing in energy efficient buildings", details the Popular Party.

From the Popular Group they trust that with the correction of error that will be approved this Monday in the plenary session "the problem can be solved and continue the procedure within the established period". "If not, and not enter in time for the error of the Cabildo, not only we would have lost a legislature but also the necessary funding for the execution of these 64 houses", highlights Medina, who hopes that "there is still time to save the situation".

"What a Cabildo can not do is to act on the basis of the reprimands that are being given from other administrations, as has happened with the wind farms, the 'Rally case' or with social housing, where a councilor of his own party has to warn Corujo that, or puts the batteries or we lose the 64 houses", emphasizes the councilor of the PP.
