The Lanzarote parliamentarians of the Canarian Nationalist Group, Oswaldo Betancort, David de la Hoz and Jesús Machín Tavío, have led the initiatives presented throughout the legislature, with a total of 749 since it began.
From Coalición Canaria they point out that in this way they have become the "most proactive" deputies. As they detail, they are "well above" the sum of those presented by all four representatives of the PSOE, with a total of 397, plus those presented by the PP with 84 and those of Sí Podemos with 133. These data ensure that they can be consulted on the website of the Parliament of the Canary Islands.
The nationalists point out that Machín Tavío heads the list with 426 initiatives presented, and criticize that the socialist Dolores Corujo "is at the bottom with only seven in two and a half years", of which they assure that she has only developed three, and two "are writings to Parliament". "That is to say, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote is also the most passive parliamentarian, with fewer initiatives and interventions of the 70 Canarian deputies," the nationalists point out.
"Being in the opposition is not synonymous with not working. Our objective is, as representatives of our neighbors, to raise our voices and demand solutions that put an end to the effects of the double and triple insularity that we suffer daily who live here," they say from Coalición Canaria.
"We do not believe that Corujo's scarce or null activity in Parliament is due to her great work in the Cabildo of Lanzarote where she does not even fulfill her main responsibility and obligation, which is to convene the plenary sessions," they add.
Details of some of the proposals of CC
From Coalición Canaria they detail that the Lanzarote nationalists have proposed "the creation of the Canarian Energy Agency", counting on the participation of the institutions so that it is public and "defending the decentralization and democratization of the new energy models".
They add that they have also demanded "actions to eliminate the viticultural registry that so harms farmers", and have asked on more than one occasion "that aid be paid to camel keepers". In addition, they have also been interested in the Government's commitment to "implement actions to alleviate the dramatic situation experienced by the livestock sector, especially the younger population".
Likewise, the nationalists detail that they have asked for explanations about "why the affected populations of Caleta de Famara and La Graciosa have not been informed", as well as "the content of the Natural Resources Management Plan". They also point out that they have asked "why the processing of the Las Caletas offshore wind farm continues despite the pronouncement of the Cabildo" and have asked questions about "what application for the implementation of alternative energy is being processed in the Government of the Canary Islands".
They also question "why the PNL to establish urban planning regulations for the installation of areas or service areas for motorhomes has not been complied with".
Initiatives on Health and Education
The nationalists assure that they continue to have "a great concern" about when the linear accelerator will be acquired for the radiotherapy bunker and "what is the reason for the delay in PET (positron emission tomography) tests". They have also asked about the file for the hemodynamic unit to start operating in the José Molina Orosa hospital.
From CC they also point out that educational questions have been raised such as the situation of the CEIP El Quintero file or what happens with the work with the CIFP Zonzamas project. They have also asked "what is the reason for the lack of assistants in centers with minors with special needs" and if the Ministry of Education has any intention "to distribute antigen tests in the different schools of the Canary Islands".
Within the educational area, the nationalists recall the importance of educational centers "not being charged maintenance fees on their accounts and the great interest in the implementation of the Emocrea subject for the development of students".
Initiatives on Immigration and Commerce
The Lanzarote parliamentarians of the Nationalist Group have denounced "the start of works without a license and without communication in the space known as Pardelas Park", to build a center for migrant minors.
They have also asked if the Ministry of Public Works "has already managed to get the Ministry of the Interior to assume the removal of boats that arrive on the coasts of Lanzarote and La Graciosa", whose cost they assure is being assumed "by the municipalities whose municipal resources are being affected".
The nationalist deputies consider important issues to be addressed those that are related "to the need for investment for the revitalization of the commercial areas of Lanzarote", as well as "the efforts demanded to solve the serious deficit of Civil Guard agents in Lanzarote and La Graciosa".
The agreement of the Kingdom of Morocco with an Israeli company to cede the rights of exploitation and prospecting of hydrocarbon resources south of the Canary Islands, has also been another of the concerns that have been put on the table over these two and a half years.
From Coalición Canaria they add that, among their latest actions, the Lanzarote parliamentarians presented last December "a total of 54 amendments that would improve by more than 30 million euros the projects included in the draft General Budget Law of the Autonomous Community for the year 2022 for the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa".
