The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has lowered the warning for high temperatures in Lanzarote to orange level for this Monday, although extreme values are still expected in some areas. The yellow warning for haze remains, with significant concentrations that will affect up to the surface level and reduce visibility to about 3,000 meters.
According to the forecast, the sky will remain clear, except on the west coasts, where cloudy intervals will be recorded. The haze will be widespread and persistent throughout the day.
The minimum temperatures will barely vary, hovering around 26 degrees in areas of the eastern interior, while the maximum temperatures will experience a moderate to notable decrease, especially on the northwest slope. Even so, 37 degrees will be reached in large areas of the eastern interior and it is not ruled out that it will punctually reach 40 degrees.
The wind will be light from variable direction in the early hours, turning to moderate from the northwest in the morning and blowing strongly in some points in the afternoon.
The warnings will be in effect from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday the 10th to 5:59 p.m. on Monday the 11th of August. Aemet recommends taking extreme precautions against the heat and the reduction in visibility caused by the haze, especially on the road and in outdoor activities.
