The criticisms in the municipality of Haría were aroused by the approval of the municipal Plenary session last Thursday, February 7, to a report by the Canary Islands Advisory Council legitimizing a detailed study of a plot of four homes in Arrieta, of which the mayor José Torres Stinga is its promoter, according to the councilors of PSOE-ALDEM, Alejandro Perdomo and José Pérez Dorta. A question that leads them to make harsh considerations such as that the mayor, "confuses the institutions with his particular estate".
Both councilors "regret" that the mayor and president of CC "makes improper use of certain public bodies to satisfy his interests, this time, in urban planning matters". The Government group managed to get the support for the report thanks to the quality vote of the deputy mayor, since there had been a technical tie between CC and the opposition, according to the two councilors.
Both assure that they are "shocked" that the Canary Islands Advisory Council "is dedicated to reporting on such particular matters" and wonder "if the treatment would be the same if that gentleman was not the president of CC" or if the body "was not appointed by hand" according to Perdomo and Dorta.
Although they do not enter to assess the legality of the construction, the members of the alliance consider that "a definitive judicial resolution should be awaited" for this matter before seeking institutional support and generating a political debate on a strictly personal cause "that has nothing to do with public management".
The members of the PSOE-ALDEM urge the mayor to "walk through the channels of legitimacy and legality"."Before as now we continue to urge the president of CC, who charges even though he does not work as mayor of this municipality, to regain common sense and act in accordance with the norm", they conclude.
