The Councilor for Urban Planning of the Tías City Council, José Antonio Gutiérrez, did not want to make statements to this media this Wednesday, which intended to know the attitude that the Consortium is going to adopt regarding the situation of the La Ola café-restaurant. Despite the fact that last week the City Council decreed the closure of the premises, complying with the mandate of a ruling by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, this Tuesday the establishment remained open, without any measures having been taken.
"I am in a meeting now and I will not be able to assist you later either, because I am busy all day," said José Antonio Gutiérrez upon receiving the call from La Voz de Lanzarote. Shortly before, Radio Lanzarote also contacted him, and in this case his response was that he was not going to make statements. Neither the mayor of the municipality, José Juan Cruz, has answered any of the calls made by this media after the press conference offered this Tuesday by the owner of "La Ola".
In that appearance before the media, Kumar Gangaram Dadlani publicly asked the Tías City Council to give him more time to be able to legalize the situation, but so far it is unknown what position the Consortium will adopt and whether or not it will order the sealing of the establishment. In its ruling, the TSJC ratified that the premises are "illegal and cannot be legalized" and pointed out that the City Council, "in addition to not reacting to the illegality, goes to the courts to defend it".
