The Cabildo of Lanzarote presented this Tuesday its virtual inventory of the archaeological collection, highlighting that it is the first institution to do so. The Plenary Hall of the Corporation hosted the presentation ceremony, which was attended by the Councilor for Heritage, Ariagona González; the archaeologist of the company Tibicena, Raquel Vega Ruíz, and the island inspector of Historical Heritage of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Ricardo Cabrera.
From the Cabildo they detail that this instrument "collects and organizes the archaeological material accumulated in the numerous interventions that have been undertaken from the 70s of the 20th century, at the beginning of the excavations of the Zonzamas site".
The Councilor for Heritage, Ariagona González, explains that anyone interested in consulting the archaeological collections of the Cabildo of Lanzarote can now do so virtually. The website is called 'fondo-arqueológico-Lanzarote' and currently has about 2,500 online files and allows various types of search.
“Lanzarote has an important archaeological collection that had to be ordered, inventoried, stored and preserved in good condition”, says González.
