The Government's intention is to gradually incorporate this technology into all its buildings, which will have real-time data and act preventively if the parameters exceed the recommended levels.

The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Internal Regime Area, coordinated by Andrés Stinga, has installed in the first institution sensors that allow monitoring the air quality in its facilities, with the aim of preventing the transmission of diseases through aerosols in indoor spaces.

"With this installation we follow the recommendations established by the Ministry of Health in a technical document published on November 18, 2020, creating our own air quality network in our buildings,” explains the councilor. The idea is that this technology will be gradually incorporated into all Cabildo buildings.

Stinga also points out that “thanks to this initiative, the Island Corporation will be able to have valuable data that it can transmit, both to its workers and to users, in relation to the air quality and ventilation of its facilities". "And the information will be available in real time, which will allow us to act preventively if the values exceed the recommended levels", he pointed out.

The installed sensors allow measuring the following parameters: CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), VOC (volatile organic compounds), PM1, PM2, PM5, PM4, PM10 (suspended particles), temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. In addition to complying with the provisions of the Ministry of Health, these data are calibrated by an accredited laboratory.
