The Integrated Vocational Training Center (CIFP) Zonzamas was the setting chosen by the Department of Employment, Housing and Open Government of the Cabildo de Lanzarote to disseminate among students the skills of entrepreneurial talent as an opportunity for professional development, objective of the Program "InsertaEmprende Lanzarote 2021" launched by the Island Corporation together with the University Foundation of Las Palmas (FULP).
The Councilor for Employment, Housing and Open Government of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jorge Peñas, was in charge of welcoming the attendees to this event, held this Friday, June 3, in which he highlighted "the path of opportunities implied by this program aimed at young people from the island trained in different branches of FP who are unemployed".
“The dynamics of this program combines sessions focused on creativity and motivation, with internships in companies in different sectors of activity, and training in technological and digital skills that are vital in this new one”, explained Peñas, who stated that “the priority of the Employment area of the Cabildo is to continue working on training and promoting the entrepreneurial culture”.
“We have an obligation to give our young people an opportunity and ensure that all that talent stays on our island”, added the Employment Councilor of the first island corporation, who conveyed his gratitude to the University Foundation of Las Palmas and the CIFP Zonzamas, as well as to the teachers and collaborating companies, in which 28 students are doing non-work internships.
The welcome ceremony also included the participation of the managing director of the University Foundation of Las Palmas, Eduardo Manrique de Lara, who referred to "the need to promote the acquisition of new skills that boost the entrepreneurial talent of young people, opening endless opportunities in their professional development".
The director of CIFP Zonzamas, Isaac Molina Franco, as well as the head of the Department of Relations with companies of the aforementioned educational center, María Paz Fernández Betancor, served as perfect hosts of this event.
Paid practices
The Cabildo points out that the "InsertaEmprende Lanzarore" Program is endowed with 300,000 euros, destined for university graduates, training cycles and Vocational Training, and has two itineraries. The first is oriented to the promotion of entrepreneurial culture and training in the field of digital transformation. It has 100 places and is structured around principles such as the acquisition of autonomy in relation to work; the work of interpersonal relationships; the stimulation of habits of entrepreneurial awareness and the development of creative capacity, initiative and entrepreneurial spirit; the identification of the basic elements and principles of starting a project; and the search for business opportunities.
In the second itinerary, according to details from the Cabildo, a theoretical-practical program is offered in companies in different sectors of activity for a maximum time of 10 months. Non-work internships are paid with 720 euros gross per month and the involvement of companies has no costs for them since all the investment is borne by the Cabildo.
The presentation culminated with the celebration of a round table under the title ‘Intrapreneurship, new challenges and opportunities’ with the participation of graduate students and collaborating companies of the program who narrated their motivating experiences and success stories, through this type of dynamics that deepen the synergy of the relationships between training and companies.
