The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, on behalf of the entire Corporation, sends a "warm message" of Christmas greetings to the residents of Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and the entire Canary Archipelago, highlighting the traditions, solidarity, and unique spirit that define these islands.

In his message, Betancort emphasizes that in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, Christmas has something very valuable: the warmth of its people. “Here we celebrate Christmas with our souls, remembering that the essential thing is unity, traditions, and those small moments that make us great.”

The president emphasizes how every corner of Lanzarote and La Graciosa holds a treasure that enriches this time of year, from typical flavors such as sweet trout and sweet potatoes, to the values of solidarity and respect that unite the island communities.

"May this Christmas be a song to solidarity and our roots”

In his greeting, Oswaldo Betancort dedicates special words to the elderly, who have been part of the production of the institutional video, as witnesses and guardians of the traditions that have shaped the island's identity: “My special thanks to those who, with their effort and wisdom, remind us of where we come from and inspire us to build a future full of hope and unity.”

The Cabildo, on behalf of all its areas, sends "a message of peace and joy, wishing that these holidays are a time to share, reflect, and enjoy the cultural and human richness that characterizes Lanzarote, La Graciosa, and the Canary Islands. From the north to the south of Lanzarote, and from the waters of La Graciosa, the Cabildo wishes you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year."
