The Cabildo of Lanzarote has closed the New Employment Opportunities (NOE) project “Lanzarote, promoting our talent”, which has allowed the hiring of 46 people seeking employment registered with the Canarian Employment Service (SCE). These people, explain from the Cabildo, "have been performing functions related to their qualification in different areas of the institution".

The Employment Councilor of the corporation, Jorge Peñas, makes a positive assessment of the development of this program, “which has allowed to improve the employability of the participants in view of a future labor insertion”. In fact, four of the people who have participated in this project are currently working in the Cabildo after having passed different selective processes.

The NOE project “Lanzarote, Promoting our Talent”, whose cost amounted to a total of 1,417,849.9 euros, was co-financed by the European Social Fund Canary Islands 2014-2020 in 85%. It began on October 1, 202 and ended on October 31, 2022. During that time, the participants, most of them recent graduates or with a degree from a Middle and Higher Grade Training Cycle, had the opportunity to acquire knowledge and experiences, tutored by technicians of the island corporation.

"Individual tutorials were held with the workers, meetings with tutors and visits to workplaces aimed at assessing the professional and personal trajectory of each participant, strengthening skills and detecting training needs, among others. Similarly, different training actions were carried out in order to provide information and tools for their subsequent labor insertion", they point out from the Cabildo.

“Currently, from the Employment area we are already working on a new project, waiting for a new call from the Canarian Employment Service, where it is planned to incorporate new workers to different departments of the Cabildo, through the formalization of an employment contract to obtain professional practice”, concludes the councilor Jorge Peñas.
