The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Area of Mobility and Transport, allocates 1,280,000 euros, financed by the Next Generation Funds, for the supply and installation of an information system for users of intercity public transport, sustainable intelligent panels and bus stop posts in all the municipalities of the island. The objective is to improve the service and promote the use of buses as public transport.
The Councilor for Mobility and Transport, Domingo Cejas, details that intercity transport in Lanzarote has 318 stops, of which only 42 have a real-time traveler information system. “This initiative will provide more sustainable intelligent panels on the island, a measure that will undoubtedly benefit users of intercity buses and that responds to the demands of the island's population that requires a more comfortable and efficient service,” says the councilor.
The new public tender consists of various actions that include all the necessary aspects for the supply, installation, implementation, commissioning and operation of the different components. In this way, the measure will improve the information and comfort of users of regular intercity transport, since they will be able to obtain real data on waiting times from the bus stops themselves, thus improving the efficiency of the service.
Companies interested in submitting their offers for this tender will have until January 29, and may do so through the State Contracting Platform at the following link.
