On Thursday night, the Traffic Accident Victim Rescue team of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium received the title of runner-up of the ninth edition of the National Traffic Accident Rescue Meeting, #ENRAT2018, organized by the Professional Association of Traffic Accident Victim Rescue (APRAT), in Alcañiz, Teruel.
The second place in this national championship has validated the Lanzarote team to win a place to participate in the 'World Rescue Challenge 2018' world championship that will be held the last week of October in Cape Town, South Africa.
The team formed by the commander Oliverio Torres Fajardo, the health worker Juan Ramos Rosales and the firefighters Claudio Cabrera González, Chedey Rodríguez Quintero, Acaymo Rodríguez Quintero and Nestor Crespo Rodríguez, also obtained in this national championship 'Enrat2018', the first place in Spain in "technical", the second in "standard maneuvers" and the third in "health".
In the general classification, it rose -by points- with this second place in Spain, valid for the world championship in South Africa, although tied with the team that finally won this championship, the Valencia-Gandía Consortium.
The president of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Juan Manuel Sosa, who accompanied the Lanzarote team to this national championship, conveyed his congratulations "for the results achieved, and for demonstrating -once again- the high level and professional qualification of our firefighters and the extrication and rescue team in traffic accidents that we have on the island".
