Costa Teguise will celebrate the “Tourism and Youth Costa Teguise” conference from this Thursday, October 6 until next Sunday the 9th. In this way, the town will become during this coming weekend in the center of a project to empower young people in the tourism sector in which concerts, children's performances will be developed and even workshops will be given that attract the attention of young people.
Oswaldo Betancort, mayor of Teguise, has pointed out that with this project he seeks to “involve future generations in the municipality's tourism industry and show them the possibilities of specific professional training”. He also added that through the holding of these conferences, all the agents that intervene in favor of youth will give young people “the prominence that corresponds to them in the life of our municipality”.
According to data on the population by age and location of Teguise, the area of Costa Teguise has the highest number of young population in the municipality, it has about 3,170 people between 10 and 39 years of age. That is why the Tourism and Youth areas have coordinated to carry out this project in order to contribute to the immersion of youth in the tourism sector of Costa Teguise, and in this way, actively participate in the recovery and growth of tourism as a pillar of the sustainable development of their town.
In this way, during this weekend training and knowledge activities of the tourism sector will be developed, with open days at the Meliá Salinas Hotel, the Grand Teguise Playa Hotel, the active tourism company Procenter Lanzarote, the El Maestro Restaurant, the Aguapark Costa Teguise, and a visit to the lifeguard station on Las Cucharas beach.
