The San Bartolomé Town Hall is looking for a new Justice of the Peace for the municipality, after the term of office of the holder of this position has ended. With the announcement published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Las Palmas last Friday, February 18, the deadline for submitting applications is open so that all interested persons can submit the documentation indicated therein, for a period of "fifteen working days from its publication".

Once finalized, the Council indicates that a proposal for appointment will be submitted to the municipal plenary, and subsequently to the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands for appointment.

The San Bartolomé Town Hall informs that interested persons may submit their applications through the General Registry or Electronic Registry of the San Bartolomé Town Hall, or in any other registry of any public administration.

Those interested must include their personal data in their applications, with a certified photocopy of their ID, and must attach a curriculum vitae stating their studies and professional life, as well as documents proving the merits stated in their curriculum.

To be a Justice of the Peace, it is required to be Spanish, of legal age and not to be involved in any of the causes of incapacity established by the Organic Law of the Judiciary.

The incumbent Justice of the Peace will be appointed by the Governing Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands. The appointment will be made to the person chosen by the Plenary of the Town Hall, with the favorable vote of the absolute majority of its members, among the people who, meeting the legal conditions, request it. If there is no applicant, the plenary will choose "freely".

The Justices of the Peace and substitutes must reside in the town where the Justice of the Peace Court is located, in this case the municipality of San Bartolomé, so their registration in the municipal register of inhabitants of this municipality will be verified.
