The San Bartolomé City Council Plenary approved this Wednesday the ordinance that will allow the construction of the Playa Honda Health Center, which will be located on Fayna Street, behind the Civic Center of the town.

The ordinance modifies the current buildability of the plot, changing from a social use of 1 square meter to 1.5. Regarding the occupation, it will increase from 50% to 75%, to distribute the requested meters on the two floors. "This meets the needs of the Functional Plan, which dictates the real needs of the center according to the population," says the Councilor for Health, Raúl de León.

The request was made by the General Directorate of Economic Resources of the Canary Islands Health Service, and the ordinance responds to "the needs to be able to carry out the construction of the new Center", having a land "that is around 3,000 square meters."

In parallel, the City Council "has been working on the Plot Segregation Project", so they hope "to be able to take the agreement to transfer said land to the next plenary session, an essential condition to start drafting the project", explains the Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero.

The mayor, Alexis Tejera, and the councilors of Health and Urban Planning emphasize that "the good relationship between the San Bartolomé City Council and the Government of the Canary Islands has been fundamental through the Ministry, the Insular Directorate of Health and the Management of the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital", noting that recently "they have held a work coordination meeting in which the head of the Infrastructure service, Manuel Bueno, the engineer of the same service, Luis Vidal, and the manager of the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, José Luis Aparicio" were present, accompanied by municipal technicians.
