The candidate of the Popular Party for mayor of Teguise, Rita Hernández, demands an agreement between political parties and institutions in order to coordinate the administrations that have competence over the Natural Space of the Chinijo Archipelago. Hernández affirms that the "only direction" of this initiative is to "save" Famara and La Graciosa, as well as "attend to the needs of the population".

"Although for the majority of the population the Natural Resources Management Plans (PORN) and the Management and Use Master Plans (PRUG) do not mean much, for the residents of La Graciosa, La Caleta and Caleta de Caballo it means guaranteeing their present and their future", says the candidate for mayor of Teguise, Rita Hernandez, who "advocates for a great pact that enables the approval of these two regulatory documents whose delay is causing enormous damages".

In this sense, Hernández points out that "we are talking about infrastructures that cannot be addressed and others that are not addressed when they could be. We are talking about the fact that the basics, access, telecommunications, supplies of something as essential as water, are third world. We are talking about the absence of cleaning, organization and security". For the candidate, all these aspects "are of vital importance, so they must be defined quickly to avoid the problems that the absence of a norm is causing to the residents".

Rita Hernández believes that the residents are right when they point out that the "fault of the situation lies in the lack of coordination that has existed between the different administrations involved" (City Council, Cabildo, Government of the Canary Islands and State Administration), to which we should add "the lack of political will that our rulers have shown, who once again have succumbed to partisan interests".

In the opinion of the PP candidate, "those interests, alien to the feelings of the residents, are what has ended up entangling something in which, in principle, we all agree, such as the well-being of the population in such a sensitive environmental environment".

In addition, Hernández believes that the Teguise City Council has a double responsibility in having reached this situation, because "not only has it not had the capacity to coordinate with the rest of the administrations, but it has also acted with the same negligence that has characterized municipal management during this term.
